A winding Alpine train ride to a remote Swiss village followed by a dramatic cable-car ride to the tip of Mount Tamaro makes a visit to Mario Botta’s incredible mountaintop chapel even more stunning.
It’s a simple geometric brick structure, but once again Botta shows his architectural finesse with inspiring spaces and refined details.
The building does not compete with the inspirational surroundings, but enhances it with breathtaking vistas and quiet contemplative spaces.
